I just wanted to say that phrase -- for a few reasons. First off, we now own a granny-mobile. It's a Mercury Grand Marquis -- a ginormous boat of a car. Our other 2 cars died and we wanted to pay cash for something cheap and reliable so that we could get around before we leave. We'll sell the car back to the car dude when we move in January. It's a good arrangement.
Secondly, Barry wanted to start the p90x fitness and nutrition program today. I can do the nutrition deal with him, but my body is still messed up from the injury so my version of the fitness routine is physical therapy90x. I use 3lb weights and go really, really slow. I definitely don't go to failure and I don't do push ups or pull ups since that's my injury zone. Anyway, while I was doing my little dinky exercises I kept hearing the phrase in my head, "be the granny." I used to be really competitive with sports and athletic activity. Now that I'm "humbled" it's good to remember to be smart about how I do things and to be sure I don't push my limits. I will indeed "be the granny" as long as I must. Hopefully, I'll be able to work up to something more substantial and develop a little perseverance and patience in the meantime...

Heh, heh.
Be the granny, friend. BE the granny!
I love it! "Be the Granny!" I would love to adapt that as my motto as well! I know how hard it is living with pain for so long and it can really get you down. I admire you so much for your plucky attitude! God is good ALL the time and you just reminded me of that Truth! I will "Be the Granny" with you!
Does that mean you guys are moving to Korea in January?!? Is it a permanent relocation or just for a year. I know Ruth mentioned wanting to move there for a year. I'm guessing it is for the ministry that you have been involved with.
It cracks me up that y'all even took the time to read this! Silly as it is, thanks for the encouragement Deb and Jess.
Angie, you're right, we are planning to move to South Korea in January. I'll be teaching English during the week to provide housing for the family and then we'll work with the church on the weekends. It'll definitely be an adventure. I'm sure I'll be utilizing blog-therapy quite often if-ins there's time.
Hope you and your beautiful peeps are doing great.
